New Jersey Adventures

My mom grew up in such a great place. Kinnelon, New Jersey is a small lake community in northern Jersey. Just right down the street from my grandma's house is a huge lake with a large sand beach, playground, kayaks, tether ball, paddle boats, etc. My Uncle and his family also live in a lake community about 20 minutes away from my grandma, "Giggi."

Lincoln had so much fun there last year, we decided to go again. This time I went alone with the boys. We stayed for 9 days: here are some of our adventures:

Cousin Graham. He was so nice to share his big boy toys with Lincoln.

Drakie getting some good kisses from Uncle Barry.

My Aunt watches a 4 year old, Robert. Lincoln and Robert became good friends and excellent wrestling partners.

Hanging out at the cousins' swim meet.

Uncle Barry and Abby take Lincoln for a quad ride.

We went to Turtleback zoo. My gorgeous cousins with Giggi.

Lincoln and Robert in front of a real dragon!

Lincoln's lip out because we had to wait for another train to come.

Aunt Cheryl with Lincoln on the caboose.

Despite banged up knees, ear infections, and bruised hands, I'm proud that I got both kids back home safely. Even after a horrific day at the Newark airport, I managed to get them back to daddy. It was a great reunion!!

July 4th

It's Lincoln's job to check the mail for me. He was excited to find there was a package in the mail one day. He got even more excited when I told him it was from Grandma. He took the package, sniffed it and said, "Ummmm, smells like a toy." Well, it wasn't a toy, it was cute 4th of July outfits.

We spend the holiday at the Johnson's house on Lake Hickory. Lincoln adores Mr. "Germy" (Jeremy) and thinks his house is the coolest. He got to jump on a water trampoline, ride a jet ski, and play arcade games. The only bad part about the day was when Lincoln got a couple splinters in his foot, then Mr. Germy, who is an orthopedic surgeon, had to dig them out.

Kid's Camp

Izzy is one of Lincoln's friends in Sunbeams, the 3 year old Sunday School at church. This works out well, because he mom is one of my friends! We decided to do a Kid's camp with our little ones. We each hosted and planned a different day of the week, and with Pinterest's help, the kids had a ton of fun!

Each day we started with the National Anthem, then we read books, sang songs, did crafts, played games, and made lunch all based around the theme of the day.

Monday: Color Day

Tuesday: Ocean

Wednesday: Jungle Day

Thursday: Olympics

Friday: Cooking

Look what masking tape and finger paint can do.

Lincoln showing off his shirt he made on Color day.

Izzy playing with homemade sand play dough on Ocean day.

They played with water balloons and did team work games with a bucket. They mostly just liked throwing water balloons!

Our ocean lunch

Izzy running with her torch she made.

Lincoln in the middle of his torch run on Olympics day. They also marched with the American flag.

Drakie enjoying finger paint on Olympics Day.

Making muffins in the chef's hats they made.

I just noticed I don't have pictures from Jungle day. They made really cute projects: a lion's mask, jungle necklace, and an elephant picture made from their handprints. One of their favorite things that day was going on a snake hunt with flashlights. The kids really did have fun, but Sarah and I were worn out by the end of the week!

Father's Day

Let the catch-up begin! We are not moving from the house at all today. Lincoln and I are a little under the weather, and we have a HUGE adventure to go on soon, so what better time to do a little catching up.

Here is Lincoln and Drake's handsome father. I made him his favorite, peach pie. Of course I wanted to take a picture of Dave with the boys before church, but Dave didn't want a "dressy" picture. By the time I remembered to get the camera out, both boys were in bed. I should know better by now...just take a picture when I think of it!

Dave is a great dad. Lincoln still begs him not to go to work every morning. I love how both boys get so excited when he comes home at the end of the day. I also feel so blessed to have a wonderful dad and a fantastic father-in-law!

Kung Fu Lincoln

My poor computer won't connect to the Internet, so I haven't been blogging like I have been wanting to. Once Dave fixes it, I will be in serious catch-up mode. I had to write this down before I forgot though. Imagine Lincoln's speaking in the perfect movie trailer voice....

"NEW, Lincoln punch movie" {his arms swinging like crazy and his legs kicking}
"FOREVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEERRRRRR" {more arm swinging and kicking, plus a stare down with fierce eyes}

I think we might need to take a little break from Kung Fu Panda and movie previews!
