The Gardens

I loooove Thanksgiving, and don’t typically like to do anything Christmas related until after my favorite Holiday, but the member preview night at the gardens is a family tradition.

The boys got to chat with Santa. Drake requested a fidgit spinner. Dorothy hung on Dave he whole time, but she whispered something about babies and barbies.

We walked around for a while. Dorothy had to use the bathroom, which was half a mile away. Ya know what...I’m not going to finish this story.

Here my mom and Lincoln are posing at the always gorgeous orchid tree. Drake and Dorothy weren’t cooperating. They must have forgotten they just spoke to Santa!!

Fall colors/ Veteran’s Day

On a beautiful, teacher’s workday, I took the kids hiking at Crowder’s mountain. Lincoln needed to put in some trail time for Scouts.

The colors are still beautiful, even at the end of November. This is the view from our backyard.

Drake wrote a letter for a veteran at school.

Football is over

What a fun season watching Drake okay flag football! One game, they had the kids run through a huge banner to some rock music, and introduced the kids.

After their last game, they had a banquet for all the kids. Each child got a trophy. Here’s Drake with his coach.

Then, awards were given to 1 child per age division for showing good sportsmanship and hard work. Drake earned this award for the 4-7 year olds. Man, he was so proud!! His smile was so precious, and of course, he was jumping all around on the stage.

Universal

Each year, Dave’s company invites clients down to Orlando for a 3 day Conference. One night, they treat everyone to a night at Universal. Spouses are invited, because the company rents out part of the park, so it’s a super cool experience. Dave and I decided I wouldn’t go, for various reasons. As it got closer, we both changed our minds and made it happen. I’m very thankful for neighbors and parents who took over Mom duty, so I could go for a day.

It was amazing to finally meet the people Dave works with, and even more amazing to just walk on rides. We rode quite a few and rode my favorite, the transformers, twice! I still can’t believe Dave got me on one roller coaster, where it flies straight up! I promised the boys some things from Harry Potter World, and we tried our Butterbeer. I’m glad we both changed our minds, because it was such a fun experience!

Halloween

Ok, when I was a kid, I remember a church Trunk or treat and then actual trick or treating. It seems like there are so many Fall festivals/parties/ events to go to, I’m already done with Halloween before it even gets here. It’s probably because it’s not my favorite holiday. Anyway, I do love seeing the kids dressed up!

Dorothy was Belle.

Lincoln was Shy Guy, a character from Super Mario.

Drake was Terrance, the Angry Bird.

Dave made both of the boy’s costumes!

We went to a Fall Festival with Mom and the cousins. How cute is this picture?!

Dorothy and I watched Drake March in his school’s book character parade. He was upset I couldn’t fit his costume into his backpack!

Dave was out of town Halloween night, so we went around the neighborhood with our dear friends.

The loot!
